NDC Gov’t to absorb 50% of fees for all Tertiary Students in the 2020/2021 Academic Year

The National Democratic Congress (NDC)  has said that the party shall absorb 50% of fees for all Tertiary Students in the 2021/2022 Academic Year.

The party during its manifesto launch dubbed ‘The People Manifesto’ at the University of Professional Studies in Accra on Monday, September 7, 2020.

The Vice Presidential candidate of the party, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang said it was very prudent to absorb the fees of the Tertiary Students in order to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Student Loans

Prof. Naana   Opoku Agyemang says the next NDC government  intends to increase the students’ loan amount to be commensurate with prevailing educational costs

“As a long-time investment in financial access beyond coverage, we intend to increase the students’ loan amount to be commensurate with prevailing educational costs.

“We will restore the students’ loan plans initiative that we created, which takes care of newly admitted students who are facing financial difficulties even in paying their admission fees. This loan repayment will only begin when beneficiaries gain employment after school.”

Free Sanitary Pads

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said that when voted into power in December 2020, it shall provide Free sanitary pads to schoolgirls below the age of 20.

The NDC made this revelation during its manifesto launch dubbed  ‘The People Manifesto’ at the University of Professional Studies in Accra on Monday, September 7, 2020.

Speaking at the event, the Vice Presidential candidate of the party, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang said it was very unfortunate to see young girls finding it difficult to afford sanitary pads while in school.
