Speaking on Neat Fm,.an Accra based radio station in Accra on Tuesday,August 20,2019, the Director General of the GES, Prof. Kwesi Opoku Amankwa said postings and transfers are now being organized in collaboration with the Public Service Commission (PSC).

The Director General said the Public Service Commission has a data of all Public Service workers including staff of the Ghana Education Service.

He further indicated, the PSC has a system that is being used to regulate the activities of all public service workers ,called the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS).

The HRMIS has a record of all Public sector workers which include salaries, and transfers.

Moreover,he said for any public worker to get transferred, his or her name must be submitted to the Public Service Commission to be entered into their System.

He said the GES is still having engagements with the PSC .

According to him, since May 2019,the GES wrote to all Regional and District Education Directorates to submit names of staff that have applied for transfers.

”The HRMIS must be fed with information relating to schools with vacancy in order to help the Ghana Education Service distribute its staff evenly.” He said.

He said until the names are being entered into the system, salaries of such staff shall not be paid.

He however assured teachers that the ban on transfers shall soon be lifted.
