Presby College (PCE): Female Teacher Trainee tops all as 27 Graduate with First Class Honours

Ghana’s Premier College, Presbyterian College of Education (P.C.E),Skipping, formerly known as P.T.C has once again shown that indeed they deserve to be the first college in Ghana and the best among the rest.

The college established in 1848 in Akropong-Akuapem in the Eastern part of Ghana which prides herself as the “MOTHER OF ALL SCHOOLS” has once again opened the academic gab in competition with her “children colleges” by bagging away twenty-seven first class honours on their 12th congregation held on 6th July, 2019 at the college’s auditorium, E.K. Osei Hall.

The congregation was set to award granduands of the institution who have completed their course of study.

The graduation ceremony saw the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Prof. J. O. Y. Mante as the guest of honour. Aside, the National Commission of Tertiary Education executive secretary, Prof. Salifu Mohammed together with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Prof. Joseph Ghartey-Ampiah were all present to mark the 12th congregation of the graduation ceremony.

This year’s graduation ceremony saw 27 students graduated with first class honours and majority taking the second class honours.

Overall Best Student

Mrs. Agnes Niiney Tetteh, a twenty three years old who hails from Somanya had the highest GPA as well as the overall best student.

She was the female academic prefect during her time in the College.

She proved her academic competence during her time in the college when she together with other students took part in a quiz competition which was aimed at marking the college’s 170th anniversary of which her college, PCE emerged winner.

Future Awards

The school also awarded some level 200 and 100 continuing students who have also set standard and are yet to attain first class honours.

Bransah Edward – CGPA 3.83
Nyama Dadzie Eudia – CGPA

Level 100

Amoafoah Janet – 7 A and 1 B plus
Asare Emmanuel – 7 A and 1 B
Berkor Stanley Amponsah – 6 A and 2 B plus
Nartey Vincent – 6 A and 2 B plus
