USAG calls on gov’t to consider Free Education for disabled students

The leadership of the University Students Association of Ghana (USAG) is calling on government to consider free education to all disabled students in the Universities.

In a statement signed by the President of The University Students Association of Ghana, Mr.Joseph Agyekum, heindicated, that It was the sound estimation of USAG that the true measure of the state’s competence in securing the future of Ghana is its ability to utilize the mandate of its Government to support the most vulnerable,a reason he believed led government to pass the disability bill in 2006.

The most significant approach to leveraging the future of the disabled in our society ,according to USAG 0must be the freeing of education at all levels for the disabled Ghanaian.

“The Disability Bill, 2006 guarantees free education for all disabled Ghanaian students.” he indicated.

The leadership promised its allegiance and support to disabled students and informed government of their decision to protest if the situation remains unchanged.

We are giving official notice that the coming weeks would realize an unrepentant protest to this effect.
