Former President Rawlings paid a surprise visit to his daughter’s campaign launch .
He has thus called on members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Klottey Korle Constituency to vote massively for her in the party’s November 7 primaries.
“I respect her a lot, because she is selfless and truthful,” he said.
Rawlings made the declaration at the campaign launch of his daughter at Osu on Sunday.
Dr. Zanetor Rawling is vying to become the parliamentary candidate for the NDC in the Klottey Korle Constituency.
Symbolic of the biblical story of Jesus riding into Jerusalem, Dr. Zanetor Rawlings rode on a donkey’s back during a health walk that climaxed a rally at the Mandela Park at Osu in Accra.
Leeford Kpakpo Quarshie, a disqualified aspirant, also graced the event.
Dr. Rawlings, in addressing the NDC supporters, charged them to deride candidates that will use money and other items to influence their votes.
“The power is yours, you have the power, don’t let anyone pay you to take away that power,” she stated.
Dr Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings further pointed out that, through wide consultations with the constituents, she has put together a development plan for the Klottey Korle Constituency and will be implemented when she comes into power.
The Plan she said will focus on issues the constituents themselves had raised during her consultation with them, including issues of education, sanitation, health and employment.
“There are several corporate institutions and companies in the constituency, I will impress upon these companies to have a quota system in place where all of them will be required to provide employment for the constituents,” she added.
Dr Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings is in the race against, the incumbent MP Nii Armah Ashittey, Samuel Constant Kwaku and Nii John Coleman.
