A game between two basic schools in the Obrachire Circuit of the Awutu Senya West District in the Central Region had to be called off after a controversial red carded player was filled in the game.
The game was between Akrabong Junior High school and Bewuanum Anglican Basic School(JHS) .
The red carded player,Jordan Agyei who plays for Akrabong JHS was red carded during the game between Akrabong
JHS and Faith Preparatory school .
The player was allowed to play the next game between Akrabong JHS and Bewuanum Anglican JHS.
A situation that caused a misunderstanding between the two Schools and the youths from both communities.
Bewuanum Anglican JHS protested the introduction of the red carded player causing a disqualification of the Akrabong JHS team and the points awarded Bewuanum Anglican Basic School’s JHS department.
During the hearing of the protest, The Match Commissioner, Mr Eyison Felix called the head coach of the Akrabong JHS to respond to the protest .
The head coach of the Akrabong JHS confirmed the filling of the red carded player.
The match commissioner legally disqualified the team and subsequently awarded the points to the Bewuanum Anglican Basic School.
Bewuanum Anglican qualified automatically to the finals to be played against Mfafo JHS.
Bewuanum Anglican JHS successfully won the finals to be crowned champions.
