The Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa has donated furniture to two Senior High Schools in his constituency to ease the challenges facing the implementation of the Free Senior High School Policy in his constituency.
The North Tongu outspoken Member of Parliament donated the items on Wednesday, November 8,2017 to the Students and Teachers of the Battor Senior High School and Mepe St. Kizito Senior High School.
The donated items include 200 pieces of furniture for students, desks and chairs for teachers, marker boards as well as boxes of markers for each of the two schools.
The problems confronting the implementation of the Free Senior High School Policy led to the dismissal and interdiction of some headmaster/mistresses who according to the Ghana Education Service, extorted monies from students to get them furniture for lessons.
