The authorities of the Mampong Technical College of Education were left with no option than to close down the College due to protest by students regarding their alleged ‘unfair’ dismissals.
According to unconfirmed information reaching educationghana.net , the authorities on Tuesday afternoon shut down the College to prevent any possibility of destruction of College facilities by aggrieved students .
Students of the Mampong Technical College of Education in the Ashanti Region took to the campus of the College earlier to protest peacefully against authorities and the University of Cape coast for their ‘unfair’ strategies to dismiss students.
A total of about 274 students are believed to have been failed out of about 500 students in the college,which is about more than 50% of students that are being dismissed.
Section of the aggrieved students told EducationGhana.net that the authorities of the college were unfair to them because that was not the option they were given when they enrolled in the College as level 100 students.
