JUST IN:UCC begs for review of GH¢10,000 court fine,says Students deserve GH¢200 Penalty Reward

The University of Cape Coast has allegedly filed for a review of the cost awarded the 22 students that the court considered innocent and ruled the rustication was unlawful.

According to information reaching , the authorities of the University, last Monday filed a review last Monday claiming the students do not deserve the GH¢10,000 which the court considers as damages due each student.

According to the report, the University authorities are optimistic,damages done to the reputation of the Students have already been restored by the media hype they received in their quest to seek justice.

In a further information, the University  maintained that final year students who were rusticated were  currently doing their national service thus funded their own trips to and from campus.

In its determination of the appropriate amount due the students, The university said that in its own estimation each of the 22 students deserves at least 200ghc.

 According to the Public Relations Officer of  the Alumni group, Mr. Bernard Quaye, he confirmed, in an interview, that they have received the application for review and they will prepare to meet the University in court on 20th December 2017 when the application will be heard.
