Headmistress of Ejisuman SHS reshuffled after interdictions

Joy News has learnt there has been an administrative change in the management of Ejisuman Senior High School (SHS), which has been involved in a sex scandal recently.

According to Joy News’ Erastus Asare Donkor, the old Headmistress, Grace Amoh Adjei under whose tenure some teachers allegedly sexually and physically abused some students has been transferred.

The new Headmistress, Ama Kyerewaa Benefo, has instituted new measures to bring sanity to the school and instill discipline.

Although she did not comment on the ongoing sex scandal, she is reported to have set up measures to get the school back to its past glory.

The special committee investigating allegations of sexual misconduct against some teachers at the School has found eight of them guilty of inappropriate sexual advances on the students.

The special committee was set up by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to investigate the allegations of sexual misconduct against some teachers at the Ashanti Region-based school.

The scandal broke after over ten female students at the school alleged that as punishment they were forced by some of the teachers to stroke their manhood until they ejaculated.

Parents also called for the transfer of the teachers following reports that some of them constantly harass students for sex in exchange for good grades.

In the heat of the scandal, the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) accused the sub-chief in Ejisuman, Nana Kofi Poku, of frustrating the management of the school.

President of the Association, Angel Carbonu, said the sex scandal is evidence of a cold war between the management of the school and teachers on one hand and the chief who failed in an attempt to get appointed to the school’s Board on the other.

Right after taking the reins of the school, Ms handed eight teachers their letters of interdiction before the Easter break.

The only teacher yet to be served is the Physical Education teacher, Isaac Ampofo, who is affectionately called ‘Strongman’. He is accused of making the student stroke his manhood until he ejaculated.

After the committee sitting where Mr Ampofo appeared to deny some of the allegations made against him and has since not been seen in the school.

The Municipal Education Directorate has been notified of the teacher vacating his post.
