The Ghana Education Service has approved a Gh¢75 levy to be paid by each student of the Manya Krobo Senior High School in the Eastern Region, to help fight and prevent the Meningitis pandemic.
According to reports reaching EducationGhana.net ,the Authorities of the School, in consultation with the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) has levied each student of the School to pay the above mentioned amount to acquire gloves and nose masks for each student of the School.

The purpose of acquiring the gloves and nose masks was to help prevent meningitis and other public health-related diseases.
According to a news letter signed by the headmaster of the school, the decision had been approved by the Ghana Education Service.
The letter, dated December 20, 2017, said, “the approval has been given by Ghana Education Service for the students to make payment in respect of meningitis and public health-related disease prevention as discussed at our PTA meetings in the second term of the year.”
