Education Ministry Suspends Amedzope College Principal for 3 Months without Salary

The Ministry of Education, led by the Education Minister, Dr.Matthew Opoku Prempeh has sanctioned the Principal of Amedzope College of Education for misconduct.

According to information reaching ,the Principal of the Evangelical Presbyterien College of Education at Amedzofe in the Volta Region, Rev. Sylvanus Tetteh, was not able to explain convincingly ,the reason why he should allow the EICHER bus with registration number GE 158 – 16 GH which was donated to the College by the the NDC administration just before the 2016 election to be used for carting firewood to the school premises for use by the pantry.

The incident which was all over social media drew the attention of the Education Ministry, for which the Principal was summoned to appear before the Education Minister for questioning on Friday, May 12, 2017.

He was summoned to give reasons why he should not be sanctioned for allowing the public property to used in that manner.

Though the ministry is yet to come out with a statement after the meeting between both parties ,EducationGhana has gathered that the Principal was suspended for three months without salary .
